There is a fallback to the online version though so it should still work as long as you have internet access. You can generate truly standalone files by using the VRML to X3D converter on the commandline with the --embed option, or by setting x3dom.embed = 1 in dispcalGUI.ini (note that the flash fallback for X3DOM will not work in that case if there's no internet access, because the flash file cannot be included in the HTML itself. But the flash fallback isn't working for me anyway). From GUI all works fine. The Windows executable of the VRML to X3D converter runs as a 'windowed' application without stdout or stderr, so there will be no output, and if run from the commandline the command prompt will return immediately. It will still work though. There's ways to make it show output when run from the commandline: If you use the Zero Install version of dispcalGUI, just run 0launch --command=run-VRML-to-X3D-converter-console --help If you use the installer or zip, please re-download, I've added a console executable for the converter. I've uploaded a standalone version of the converter here: This has been updated from the one included in dispcalGUI, it will create HTML files that reference the viewer components from the web and fall back to a cached version (if available) and not the other way around. The benefit of this approach is that I can update the viewer without updating dispcalGUI, and you will automatically benefit from those updates when you have an internet connection. I've already updated it to fix the faint transparency issue (was a rendering issue in X3SDOM).
