Hello Everyone,Just Got My Slim PS2 [SCPH-75001] Able To Run HomeBrew With Free Mcboot(Action Replay Max Media Method) Now To The Problem When I Launch The CB ELF File With ULaunchELF From USB It Takes Forever,From What I Hear It Has To Do With The Slim's USB Ports, So I Found A Quicker Way Of Booting It, Copy It To A Memory Card Make Sure Nothing Is In The USB Ports,And MAke Sure A Single Layer PS2 Game In In The Drive,It Comes Up Everything Seems To Be Good But When I Try To Launch A Game It Kicks Back To ULaunchELF Any Ideas Any Help Would Be Appreciated Thanks.

I am glad to say that I have been successful at booting CB from a USB drive. CH_launch.elf on memory card CodeBreakers.elf on thumb drive Boot into FMCB(1.8b) with disc tray open uLaunchElf Close disc tray Navigate to CodeBreakers.elf on thumb drive Start CodeBreakers.elf Select game and cheats start game(For me it was FFXII) ESR beta r9 splash shows up Game starts This sounds like a fairly normal session except for the stuff with the disc tray, which I don't see the purpose of. With everything properly configured you should be able to have the disc tray closed from power-on to the end of your session.

I see no reason to open it at all. Your problem is probably that you have configured FMCB to prioritize disc booting, instead of booting directly into uLE, which is generally more useful (it's also what I always do). The only drawback of this is that if you do want to boot a disc directly without seeing uLE, you have to press a button during the boot (one configured for the FASTBOOT option).

But personally I always boot into uLE anyway, and then launch disc with the 'MISC/PS2Disc' command of uLE which I have on a shortcut button. (NB: That command also auto-invokes ESR if the disc is an ESR-patched backup) Best regards: dlanor. Ok I just started this whole softmod thing on my PS2.this is the site that I installed it from. (I hope posting a link to a site is ok if not I will edit my post).I setup everything on my MC started to do this tut (the one we are on) found that I had no ESR direct dvd boot file so I searched on the net for it and found this.

It confused the heck out of me so I didnt try it but I got the file from the downloads at the top. I read this tut again and did everything that it said started up the patched CB file (not sure if it works or not) and about 4 mins of blackscreen later it starts up EXTREMELY slow (from black screen it takes about 1 min to get to full color) and stops at the point that it says 'get MORE game' with a blue backround. Can anyone help me out with this.

I will add more information if it is needed. Thanks in advance for the help. Oh and I just wish to say hello to everyone cause I am (again) new here.had an account a LONG time ago and just got the net back after a few years =p again Hi LOL.

It sounds to me as if you are using a slim PSTwo of model SCPH-750xx or later. On these models CodeBreaker has a problem with USB port access, causing it to semi-freeze (superslow execution) for as long as any USB device is connected. This is not directly tied to the use of any files on a USB drive, as the same semi-freeze will occur even if you just connect a keyboard or a mouse.

All USB devices must be disconnected in order for the program to run at normal speed on these consoles. And on the very latest models (I have an SCPH-90004 with bios v2.30) the patched CodeBreaker elf can not work at all, regardless of any other factors. But for the earlier slims, the trick to using CodeBreaker is simply to disconnect all USB devices. Best regards: dlanor. What about the unpatched one? Does it work?

I just want to know, whether the codebreaker or the patch is at fault. I have tried the unpatched CodeBreaker elf and this too freezes the console on black screen directly on launching, without displaying anything at all. And to ensure that this is not a result of the old USB problem, I've also tested it by starting the elf from MC after removing all USB devices. The result is the same BSOD freeze as already described. This unpatched elf is the same one I've used as basis for making new patched elfs with your patcher, and all of these elfs work fine on all my consoles of older models. NB: I've made most of these tests with CodeBreaker v10, since that is what I normally use, but I'm pretty sure it applies to all versions.
