Since the RPG Maker community has been infinitely helpful to me, I decided from the gate that I would do my best to return the favor and contribute. Basically anything I make for my games will most likely end up being posted for use by others as well. I recently finished and released my first game, Hinterland. It's a horror/exploration game, and I made a few resources for it, which I'm going to post here. I'm not sure how helpful it'll be, but the sound effects might come in handy at the very least. As far as tiles go, it's mostly some RTP edits/recolours (I think two floors and some castle tiles from the RTP) and some things I drew or scaled down myself, like blood (not too over-the-top, I hope), footprints, some famous public domain paintings, etc. There are four music tracks.
I made them for my game, but feel free to use them if you want to. The SE folder has a lot of sound effects.
Most are various types of footsteps, but there are some other things as well, including things that would work for system sounds/spells/whatever. All of these were either made from scratch or taken from CC0-licensed sound effects. There's a Lights folder with some lighting effects I made from scratch.
I used them with Kha's Awesome Light Effects but feel free to use them for anything. Which reminds me, feel free to use any of this in any way (RPG Maker-related). Commercial, noncommercial, edit it, chop it up, use it as needed. Credit to me (crackedthesky) would be nice, a link back to my Hinterland project would be nice, but I won't come looking for you if you don't. Link is here: You can view all of the files and download them individually. I'm still working on getting a full-pack download together.
Thanks for everything! Previews (the actual folder has a little more stuff in it). Thank you for sharing these. Could I make a couple of suggestions, having clicked on the link out of curiosity. Many people have limits on how much they can download (daily, monthly, it varies). They would be more likely to have a look at these if your opening post made it clear that everything is in separate folders, so that one can pick and choose.
However, that brings me to my second point. As far as I could see - and I may have overlooked something obvious - it isn't possible to download these directly, they have to be saved to Google Drive. I know from posts on this forum that some people do not want to use Google Drive. Would it be possible to organise things so that people can just download? Just looked it over. I was pretty sure Google Drive once had a 'download all' option but looking at it now, it looks like the only way to download them is one at a time (you click the file to open the preview, and the top-middle of the screen is a down arrow to download the file).
I'll see if I can put together an easier way to download, as well as update my original post with better previews/maybe a list of all of the files. I'm about to head out for work so it'll take a few hours, though. Is there a better fileshare program members around here are accustomed to?
Click to expand.Definitely! It's been on my to-do list (I'll update the readme when I get it done). It's a bit of work, as the filenames are a little odd and I renamed them as I edited them/converted them to ogg (I put together the current list just to make sure I have everyone credited). Have to go through and try to figure out which ones I used, which I didn't, what the username is, and which sounds they did, haha. For right now, I can tell you the nature sound is by mafon2 () and the scribble sound is by Tomoyo Ichijouji Will try to get the rest of the list done as soon as I can.
